A Praise Poetry For Poverty

Poverty is evil, we all know that. What we don't know is that it turns a man into an underdog. It is the number one enemy of any man. It rubbishes a man's ego. Poverty (smh), it takes a prince and turns him into a common man. Changes a potential giver into a dominant beggar. Poverty corrupts a man's intelligence, blurs the brain and decimates potentials. Poverty ehn, is a mild madness.
If you see poverty anywhere, you must run (atleast, that's what they say) but poverty will keep chasing you (so for how long will you now run?). You need to be ready to face poverty so it can stop chasing you. Hard work, that's all it takes to face poverty. Do it now, once and for all. Nobody likes being poor. Besides, it's your fault if you die poor...

Who Is "Doing" You?

"Doing" in this context refers to destroying or delaying or any other word you think.

Most times, I ask myself, 'why do we Nigerians have that mentality that someone somewhere is doing us?'. I don't get it. I know there are haters and enemies but do you really think they're 'doing' you? I mean, they might want your downfall and plot all sort of evil but are they really really 'doing' you? I seriously don't understand. When something we don't want happens, it automatically means someone somewhere is the cause. Even if, I mean IF someone is 'doing' you, do you really think God doesn't know about it? Do you think you can die without God's permission? Is it possible for your 'doers' to say NO when God has said YES?
Whatever happened to Faith. What happened to believing in God? Why do we doubt destiny or even fate? I think it's just better to start accepting things the way they come rather than hating people because you think they're the ones 'doing' you.

PRAY**WORK**BELIEVE and remember, God's delay is not God's denial. Nobody is doing you and if at all somebody is, it's you. You're the one doing yourself!

"I Cannot Come And Kill Myself"

Mi o le wa ku.

This is a very popular saying among the youths of today. I think it's as a result of the nonchalant attitude some of us have. We tend to forget our goals and aims and wishes and dreams and everything. We settle for less when we can have the best. It's a negative thought that doesn't allow you achieve anything at all.

Your mates are struggling to better their lives but because you cannot come and kill yourself , you end up being lifeless.
Your mates are reading all night to come out with a first class but because you cannot come and kill yourself , you come out with a pass. Obviously, no good paying company accepts a pass, so you'll be jobless for as long as possible. But because you still cannot kill yourself, I doubt you'll be smart enough to be your own boss.

There's another saying that, "what is worth doing at all is worth doing well". Why can't that be your favourite saying? Why do we wish to be sons and daughters of Dangote , Otedola or even Bill Gates? If they were that lazy and weren't willing to 'kill' themselves , will their lives be worth living today?

We need to get out of our comfort zones. We need to struggle. We need to hustle. We need to build a life we won't need a vacation from. We need to dare ourselves. We need to think wide. We need to act and act now!. We don't want to average, we want to be the best at what we do. I want to be the best and so i'll give what it takes.

Do not settle for less! Dangote doesn't have two heads. What makes you think you can't be richer than him?

"Just A Line Of Fabrics"

I'm staring intently at the sun like we're having some sort of communication. I can feel the warmth in my eyes but I'm so far gone I can't feel the tears. I'm focused on the magnificent appearance and wondering why it has so much rapport with the cloud.
It's a trio now though, because I'm involved and the sun is going on and off like it's playing hide and seek with the clouds.
Coming back to my existence after someone called my name, I notice the line of clothes that has been right in front of me. Now, the clothes are not as pale as they were before.
Beautiful fabrics arranged in an orderly sequence with the breeze blowing, causing them to move in a rhythmic way.
Finally coming back to life, I realise I have been looking through the window all along.

My point is, how you look at it makes a whole lot of difference . Nobody cares what the situation is and the truth is, you shouldn't too. Try to see the good side in everything

Smile; it's a form of charity

What you give out doesn't necessarily have to be money or clothes or shoes (material things). Smiling to the less-opportuned is like giving them hope. A smile, just a smile does the magic not to even talk of what smiling does to your own face and body. You look so much better when you smile...

A Friend To Nobody

Either you're rich, poor, male, female, old or even young, it doesn't care. It visits at it's own will, just once in a lifetime. Death regards no man and the arrival is always noticeable and of course painful. You can't tell where the entrance is located. It's a price we all have to pay. Sometimes, you have to bring yourself to accept some of life's inescapable certainties...like death

Power Of Love

Love is beautiful, we all know that but what we don't know is how powerful it is. Love is a powerful force and a powerful weapon but only in the hands of the wise. Love is awesome because you can do so many things with it. You can get anything you desire. You can reach your destination. With love, you always feel safe. You're always happy. You look younger. Love on the other hand, isn't always from someone else. Love is in you. You have to love yourself to enjoy love, to understand what love is capable of doing. Never underestimate the power of love for the law of love is one of the laws of success...
